UPDATE for SUNDAY:

Looking forward to our hike on Sunday, 6/24! See Eventbrite page and below for more details!

We’ll meet at the visitor parking lot (Big Basin Redwoods State Park Headquarters & Visitor Center 21600 Big Basin Highway Boulder Creek, CA 95006)

and plan to embark on the hike at 10 a.m., please try to be there early, as traffic can back up and sometimes the parking lot fills early.

I’ll have some GSM swag, but please bring your own water, sunscreen, etc. Come in good hiking attire. It’s forecast to be a beautiful 67 and sunny. The moderate hike will last approx. 4-5 hours (optional extended route up to 8 hours). PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER AND FOOD FOR LUNCH. We’ll eat lunch at the base of the waterfall and do a group photo. From there, some of us will go back, and others, looking for a more strenuous hike, can continue to the top of the waterfall on their own.

If you need to reach the organizers, please text or call Kristy Peterson at 530-400-8959 or Al Lavassani 650-444-4403 (Al’s also available for carpooling up to 5)

Please note: Big Basin is experiencing a high demand for parking on busy summer and holiday weekends.

Due to this demand, traffic can back up along Highway 236 both north and south of Park Headquarters causing long delays and our day use parking lots can fill to capacity.

Arrive early to ensure you get parking. Suggestion: Enter the park from the south. Taking Highway 236 north from the town of Boulder Creek into Big Basin is less windy and normally has less traffic and shorter delays. Do not park in undesignated areas! Parking along the highway in undesignated areas near Park Headquarters is illegal and may result in citation.

See you there!
